Custom Quilts

Want a quilt for your home? Contact me.

To start the process, you need to make some basic design and color decisions by looking through my quilt gallery

  • Make note of what you like either because of color or design.
  • Decide whether you want something for a wall, a bed, or a family room.
  • Consider whether you want something that is overall light or overall dark.
  • Choose a color scheme
  • Think about whether you want a traditional or contemporary look.

I also have an album of quilts pictures from various sources that you can peruse if you aren't sure what you want - you might get some ideas in there to show me what you like and don't like. Then we can talk.

Raw materials for a basic full-size quilt run approximately $80. Depending on your pattern choice (8 hours for an easy pattern in a baby quilt to as much as 60 hours for something bigger and more complex), the price of a project will vary. Labor is $15 per hour.

I'll bring you - or show you - an array of fabrics from my studio so that you are the one choosing colors and fabrics. If you don't see what you want, we can meet at a fabric store - preferably quiltfabric.com in Willowbrook, A Touch of Amish in Barrington, or Stitches'N Stuffing in Naperville and look at fabrics there. I also have a print catalog from Hancock's in Kentucky you might use, and I'm a big fan of on-line fabric shopping. So many possibilities!

Through this kind of collaborative process I have made some of my loveliest quilts!
